The PTSD, short for Peer-led, Trauma-informed, Support & Direction, is a disabled veteran-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based on East Broad Street in Statesville, North Carolina. Founded in 2025 by retired U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Derek DeVos, it offers non-clinical support for veterans living with post-traumatic stress and for the people around them. Its PATH program runs confidential peer support groups modeled on twelve-step meetings, The HUB helps veterans navigate VA benefits, housing, Medicaid and SNAP, and The 2nd Front supports caregivers and families. Through its Purple Star Ally program, local businesses train to welcome veterans, and the group hosts downtown events promoting the 988 crisis line and service-dog awareness.
