These terms govern your use of the BitSpend website and directory. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
The directory
BitSpend is an information directory of businesses and websites that may accept cryptocurrency. We publish listings so people can find those businesses. We do not sell goods or services listed on the site, and we do not operate the businesses in the directory.
No payment services
BitSpend does not process payments, hold cryptocurrency or other funds, exchange currency, or take part in a purchase between you and a merchant. Any payment is solely between you and that merchant, on the merchant’s own site, app, or premises, and under that merchant’s own terms.
Cryptocurrency payments can be irreversible, and prices can change quickly. Confirm the amount, the network, and the payment method with the merchant before you pay.
Listing information
Listings may include a business name, location, logo, description, and the coins or networks a business reports that it accepts. That information can be incomplete or out of date. A listing is not a promise that a business currently accepts cryptocurrency, that a location is open, or that a product is available.
Confirm payment options, hours, prices, and policies with the business before you rely on a listing. BitSpend may add, edit, verify, unpublish, or remove a listing at any time.
Your use of the site
You may use the site to look up businesses and to share links to public listing pages. You may not:
- copy the directory in bulk, or reuse it to build a competing database, without permission
- scrape, overload, or interfere with the site
- submit false, misleading, or unlawful listing information
- attempt to access another person’s account or any non-public part of the site
- use the site for fraud, spam, or any unlawful purpose
Accounts and submitted listings
If you create an account or submit a business for the directory, you agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to provide it, including any logo or description. You give BitSpend permission to display that material on the site and in related promotional uses of the directory.
You are responsible for activity under your account. A published listing does not create a partnership, agency, or endorsement between you and BitSpend.
Third-party sites
Listings may link to merchant websites, maps, and payment pages that BitSpend does not control. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. BitSpend is not responsible for their content, security, or transactions.
Intellectual property
The BitSpend name, site design, and directory compilation are owned by BitSpend or its licensors. Merchant names, logos, and other materials remain the property of their owners and are shown to identify those businesses. You may not use the BitSpend name or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you, except to say that a business is listed on BitSpend.
Disclaimers
The site and the directory are provided as is and as available. BitSpend does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, coin acceptance, location, or verification status is complete, current, or accurate. To the fullest extent allowed by law, BitSpend disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, BitSpend and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or a failed, reversed, or disputed payment, arising out of your use of the site or a listing. If BitSpend is found liable for a claim related to the site, that liability is limited to the amount you paid BitSpend for the use that gave rise to the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars if you paid nothing, whichever is greater.
Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The “last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated terms.
